Which electronics companies sponsor TN visas in Texas?
Texas Instruments, NXP Semiconductors, Samsung Austin Semiconductor, Dell Technologies, and Flex are among the electronics employers in Texas with established histories of TN sponsorship. Defense-adjacent electronics firms near Dallas-Fort Worth, including Raytheon and L3Harris, also hire in qualifying engineering categories. Sponsorship activity is heaviest in semiconductor design, embedded systems, and hardware engineering functions.
Which cities in Texas have the most electronics TN sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads the state for electronics TN roles, driven by its semiconductor cluster anchored by Texas Instruments, Samsung, and NXP. Dallas-Fort Worth is the second-largest concentration, particularly for defense electronics and hardware manufacturing. Houston has a smaller but active electronics hiring market tied to energy-adjacent instrumentation and industrial electronics. San Antonio is a growing hub for cybersecurity hardware and defense systems work.
What types of electronics roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visa eligibility requires the role to fall within a defined USMCA occupation category. In electronics, qualifying roles commonly include electrical engineer, electronics engineer, computer engineer, and systems engineer positions. The job must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Roles in hardware design, PCB layout, semiconductor process engineering, and embedded firmware development frequently meet these requirements when degree alignment is clear.
How do I find electronics TN sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by TN visa type and the Electronics and Hardware industry to surface Texas-based roles from employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness. This is more efficient than broad job searches because listings are pre-filtered for visa compatibility. Migrate Mate also provides context on TN eligibility by role type, which is useful when evaluating whether a specific position qualifies.
Are there any Texas-specific or industry-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in electronics?
Texas has no state-level visa requirements, but the electronics industry here skews heavily toward semiconductor fabrication and defense, which can affect TN eligibility in practice. Roles at defense contractors may require security clearances that Canadian or Mexican nationals face difficulty obtaining, which can narrow the field of open positions. Additionally, Texas Instruments and Samsung run large fab operations where many roles are technician-level, which generally do not qualify for TN status without degree requirements attached.
