Search Construction Jobs in TexasConstruction TN Sponsorship Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
Which construction companies sponsor TN visas in Texas?
Large engineering and construction firms with significant Texas operations are the most common TN visa sponsors in the industry. Companies like Fluor Corporation (headquartered in Irving), Zachry Group (San Antonio), and major national contractors such as Turner Construction and Bechtel have histories of hiring Canadian and Mexican professionals in technical roles. Project-based work means sponsorship activity tends to follow where major infrastructure and industrial contracts are active.
Which cities in Texas have the most construction TN sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads due to its concentration of petrochemical, energy, and industrial construction projects, which require specialized engineering talent. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, driven by commercial real estate development and infrastructure expansion. Austin has seen a surge in construction activity tied to semiconductor manufacturing and data center projects. San Antonio also has steady activity from military construction and commercial development.
What types of construction roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
TN visas require the role to fall within a NAFTA/USMCA-listed occupation. In construction, qualifying roles are almost always engineering positions, such as civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineers, rather than trades or general contracting work. The role must require at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Project managers with engineering degrees can qualify if the position itself requires that degree level.
How do I find construction TN sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for professionals seeking U.S. visa sponsorship, including TN visa roles. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface construction TN jobs in Texas directly. Because TN sponsorship in construction is concentrated among larger engineering and industrial contractors, focusing your search on firms with active Texas project portfolios gives you the most relevant results.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for construction TN sponsorship?
Texas's scale and diversity of construction sectors matters for TN applicants. The state's energy industry, particularly oil, gas, and petrochemical plant construction along the Gulf Coast, generates consistent demand for engineers who qualify under TN. Texas also has no state income tax, which affects overall compensation comparisons. Employers on large federal or energy infrastructure contracts may have more established processes for sponsoring foreign professionals in technical roles.
