Which companies sponsor visas for tax managers in Missouri?
St. Louis-based firms like Edward Jones, Centene, and Emerson Electric have filed Labor Condition Applications for tax and finance roles. In Kansas City, H&R Block and major public accounting firms including Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and EY maintain offices that sponsor H-1B visa workers. Regional banks and healthcare systems across Missouri also periodically sponsor tax managers, though sponsorship frequency varies by employer and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for tax manager roles in Missouri?
The H-1B is the most common visa for tax managers in Missouri, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA licensure strengthens the specialty occupation argument. Candidates already holding L-1A or O-1A status may also be eligible. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting classifications under the USMCA.
Which cities in Missouri have the most tax manager sponsorship jobs?
St. Louis and Kansas City account for the overwhelming majority of tax manager sponsorship activity in Missouri. St. Louis draws sponsorship from financial services, manufacturing, and healthcare employers concentrated along Forsyth Boulevard and the Clayton business corridor. Kansas City has a strong accounting presence anchored by H&R Block's headquarters and a dense cluster of regional accounting and professional services firms. Springfield and Columbia see limited but occasional sponsorship activity.
How to find tax manager visa sponsorship jobs in Missouri?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can search tax manager roles in Missouri without manually screening out employers who don't sponsor. The platform is built for international candidates, which means listings are curated for H-1B and other work visa pathways. Searching by state and role on Migrate Mate is the most direct way to identify Missouri employers actively open to sponsoring tax managers.
Are there any Missouri-specific considerations for tax managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Missouri does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal obligations, but employers must comply with DOL prevailing wage rules for the St. Louis or Kansas City metropolitan areas, which are tracked separately by the Department of Labor. Missouri's CPA licensure board accepts NASBA credentials, and holding or pursuing a Missouri CPA license can meaningfully support an H-1B specialty occupation determination for tax manager petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax manager jobs in Missouri?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
