Which companies sponsor visas for tax managers in Texas?
Large multinationals with Texas headquarters are among the most consistent sponsors for tax manager roles. ExxonMobil, Chevron, and other energy sector companies in Houston, along with AT&T and Texas Instruments in Dallas, regularly file H-1B visa petitions for tax professionals. The Big Four accounting firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG) also maintain significant Texas presences and have well-established international hiring pipelines for tax managers.
Which visa types are most common for tax manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for tax managers in Texas, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with extraordinary professional recognition may pursue the O-1A. Some Canadian and Mexican nationals working in cross-border tax roles may qualify for TN visa status under the accountant category, though classification depends on specific job duties.
Which cities in Texas have the most tax manager sponsorship jobs?
Houston and Dallas are the primary markets for sponsored tax manager positions in Texas. Houston's concentration of energy, petrochemical, and oilfield services companies creates strong demand for international tax and compliance professionals. Dallas attracts tax manager hiring through its financial services, technology, and telecommunications sectors. Austin is a growing market, particularly for tax managers with technology company experience, as major tech employers have expanded their Texas footprints significantly.
How to find tax manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters tax manager roles in Texas by visa sponsorship history, so you're not sifting through positions that don't support work authorization. The platform aggregates employer filings and sponsorship data relevant to tax professionals, covering Houston's energy sector employers, Dallas-based financial services firms, and Austin's expanding tech companies. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have actively sponsored tax managers.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for tax managers in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which shapes the tax function at many companies headquartered there. Employers often prioritize candidates with federal and international tax experience over state and local tax expertise, given the absence of a personal income tax. Texas's energy sector also creates demand for tax managers with oil and gas accounting knowledge, a specialized area that can strengthen an H-1B petition by demonstrating the highly specialized nature of the role.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
