Work schedule: Mon - Fri, full time; occasional after hour work for 'go live' events

Provides maintenance and support of the user experience for the clinical information systems.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Function

1. Evaluates/enhances/maintains the user experience for the clinical information systems.
2. Provides one on one support for users.
3. Identify root cause of system/workflow issue and prioritize critical issues.
4. Supports end users during new application/code implementation.
5. Ensures data privacy, confidentiality and security.
6. Acts as a liaison between end users and IT.
7. Evaluates end user interaction with computer hardware and use of applications.
8. Assesses proposed system changes.
9. Conducts and analyzes audits of system output to identity end user compliance/utilization.
10. Communication/collaboration with all Health System affiliates to ensure integration.
11. Facilitates Informatics Councils for system change input/analysis.
12. Designs data to be retrievable.
13. Evaluate data elements to enhance safety and drive compliance.
14. Develops/maintains/evaluates downtime procedures.
15. Utilizes Cerner analytics reports to objectively evaluate user experience.
16. Identifies/analyzes decision support as applicable.

17. Contributes to meeting Magnet Empirical Outcomes with innovative system design.

18. Prioritizes and coordinates with IT to maintain existing system via change requests.

19. Collects specifications for changes from end user.
20. Uses Evidence based practice to guide innovative change requests.
21. Evaluates specifications for new design to be compliant with policy.
22. Prepares/maintains change source documents in accordance with auditor requirements.
23. Processes change requests to IT via established procedures.
24. Provide regular updates during project phases.
25. Provides training upon completion of work.
26. Implements requested change.
27. Ensures standardization across facilities.
28. Responsible for periodic review and updating in compliance with policy.
29. Designs access during downtime.

30. Ensures utilization of standard nomenclature where applicable.

31. Participates as a member of a project team for implementation of new/upgrade of applications.

32. Leads/co-leads project design/development teams independently.
33. Documents current state workflow to assist in planning and design of system.
34. Works independently on assigned tasks.
35. Completes assigned tasks according to established timeline.
36. Delegating tasks as applicable.
37. Identifies project obstacles and assists in leading to resolution.

38. Serves as a resource for integration and standardization of new applications with current applications.

39. Conducts clinical application training for clinical staff, new employees and medical staff.

40. Develops and delivers training plan and materials for new applications.
41. Ensures new employee training curriculum is regularly reviewed/updated to incorporate changes to application.

42. Develops Computer Based Training Modules.

43. Test applications to assure functionality.

44. Ensures adequate testing of new application/code for all user positions.

45. Develops and updates test scripts.

46. Maintains and utilizes knowledge of national trends to enhance informatics practice.

47. Conducts/participates in hosted site visits or reference calls.
48. Maintains/updates knowledge in Cerner applications by regular use of uCern.
49. Participates in ongoing educational activities related to Healthcare IT.

50. Networks with other facilities using similar software/application.

51. Participates in evening/night/weekend call rotation.

52. Mentors new team members.

Job Requirements

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Health Care, Business or related field required.

Experience

- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience working in a health care field or training related to computer applications.

License/Certifications

- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
