Which companies in Nebraska sponsor visas for human resources managers?
Omaha-based employers with established HR functions and H-1B sponsorship histories include Union Pacific Railroad, Mutual of Omaha, and First Data (Fiserv). In the food production sector, Tyson Foods and JBS USA have sponsored HR management roles. University of Nebraska campuses and major health systems like CHI Health also sponsor HR positions when candidates meet specialty occupation requirements.
Which visa types are most common for human resources manager roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for human resources managers in Nebraska, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding L-1A status through an intracompany transfer are another pathway, particularly at multinationals with Nebraska operations. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying HR management roles.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most human resources manager sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the largest share of human resources manager sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and large regional employers in finance, insurance, and food processing. Lincoln is the secondary market, anchored by state government contractors, University of Nebraska administration, and healthcare. Smaller markets like Grand Island have occasional HR openings tied to food manufacturing facilities.
How to find human resources manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse human resources manager openings in Nebraska without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location within the state, which is useful given that Omaha and Lincoln hold the majority of qualifying positions. Migrate Mate's focus on sponsorship-confirmed roles saves significant time compared to general job searching.
What should international candidates know about HR manager sponsorship requirements in Nebraska?
Nebraska employers sponsoring H-1B petitions for human resources managers must file a Labor Condition Application certifying the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the Omaha or Lincoln metropolitan area, as determined by Department of Labor data. Because HR manager is sometimes scrutinized as a specialty occupation, employers generally require a degree directly in human resources, organizational behavior, or business, rather than an unrelated field. Candidates with SHRM certification often strengthen the specialty occupation argument.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored human resources manager jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
