Which companies sponsor visas for project development managers in Nebraska?
Kiewit Corporation, headquartered in Omaha, is one of Nebraska's most active sponsors for project-related roles due to its large-scale construction and engineering operations. Mutual of Omaha, Union Pacific Railroad, and Sandhills Global also have histories of sponsoring skilled professionals. Healthcare systems like Nebraska Medicine and CHI Health sponsor project development managers overseeing facility and IT infrastructure programs.
Which visa types are most common for project development manager roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project development managers in Nebraska, given that the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, qualifying it as a specialty occupation. The L-1A is also relevant for managers transferring within multinational companies. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3, and those from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN status under USMCA.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most project development manager sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the majority of Nebraska's project development manager sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 companies, construction firms, and healthcare networks. Lincoln, home to the University of Nebraska and state government infrastructure projects, is the second-largest market. Grand Island and Kearney see smaller volumes of sponsorship tied to manufacturing and agricultural development projects.
How to find project development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles offering visa sponsorship, so you can search project development manager positions in Nebraska without sorting through companies unlikely to sponsor. The platform surfaces employers in Omaha, Lincoln, and beyond who have active sponsorship programs, making it practical for H-1B, E-3, and TN candidates to identify opportunities matched to their visa eligibility and project management background.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for project development managers in Nebraska?
Nebraska's lower cost of living means prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are generally set below those in coastal metro areas, which can make sponsorship more accessible for employers managing labor costs. The state's strong presence in agriculture technology, energy development, and large-scale construction creates steady demand for project development managers. The University of Nebraska system also produces a pipeline of OPT candidates who may already be embedded with local employers seeking to sponsor.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project development manager jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
