Which companies sponsor visas for software engineers in New Hampshire?
BAE Systems, Liberty Mutual, and Oracle have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for software engineer roles in New Hampshire. Larger defense and healthcare technology contractors operating in the Manchester and Nashua corridors also appear regularly in DOL disclosure data. Companies with substantial engineering headcount are generally more likely to have established sponsorship processes than smaller firms.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua account for the majority of software engineer visa sponsorship activity in New Hampshire. Manchester functions as the state's commercial hub, with finance, defense, and healthcare tech employers concentrated there. Nashua, situated along the Massachusetts border, attracts technology and manufacturing firms. Smaller clusters exist in Concord and around the Lebanon area near Dartmouth College.
Which visa types are most common for software engineer roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software engineers in New Hampshire, as it covers specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical field. Some employers also use the L-1B for intracompany transfers of specialized knowledge workers. Candidates from Australia may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may consider the TN visa under USMCA.
How to find software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability and state, making it straightforward to browse software engineer roles in New Hampshire without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by role type and location to surface active openings from employers who have sponsored work visas for software engineers in the state previously.
Are there any state-specific considerations for software engineers seeking visa sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire has no state income tax, which affects how prevailing wage comparisons translate to take-home pay relative to neighboring states. The proximity to Boston means some employers list roles as remote or hybrid with a New Hampshire office address, so it's worth confirming the actual work location before applying. University of New Hampshire and Dartmouth College contribute a pipeline of technical talent that some regional employers recruit from directly.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software engineer jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
