Which companies sponsor visas for DevOps engineers in New Jersey?
Large employers with consistent H-1B sponsorship records for DevOps roles in New Jersey include Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, and financial services firms headquartered in Jersey City such as JPMorgan Chase. Telecom companies like AT&T and Verizon also maintain significant engineering operations in the state. Consulting firms with New Jersey delivery centers are among the most active sponsors for DevOps-specific roles.
Which visa types are most common for DevOps roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for DevOps engineers in New Jersey, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT are frequently hired by New Jersey employers who then file H-1B petitions. The L-1B is also used when engineers transfer from multinational employers with offices in the state.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most DevOps sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City leads due to its proximity to Manhattan and its concentration of financial services and tech firms. Parsippany, Princeton, and New Brunswick are active markets driven by pharmaceutical and biotech employers along the Route 1 corridor. Edison and Iselin have a high density of IT consulting firms that regularly hire and sponsor DevOps engineers. Bridgewater also has notable activity from insurance and healthcare technology companies.
How to find devops visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates looking for visa sponsorship roles, including DevOps positions in New Jersey. You can filter by state and role to see active openings from employers with a documented sponsorship history. Because sponsorship availability is not always disclosed in standard job postings, using a platform like Migrate Mate that surfaces verified sponsoring employers saves significant time in the New Jersey DevOps job search.
Are there any state-specific considerations for DevOps visa sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific DevOps role and work location. Because New Jersey is designated as a high-cost metro area, prevailing wages are generally set at levels reflecting the New York-Newark metropolitan region. Employers in the pharma and financial services sectors often have dedicated immigration teams and established sponsorship processes, which can make the petition process more structured than at smaller companies.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored devops jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
