Which companies sponsor visas for DevOps engineers in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, and Boeing are among the most active visa sponsors for DevOps roles in Washington, particularly in the Seattle metro area. Beyond these household names, mid-size tech firms in Bellevue and Redmond, cloud infrastructure companies, and aerospace contractors also have documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories. Checking Department of Labor LCA disclosure data is the most reliable way to verify which employers have filed for DevOps-related positions.
Which visa types are most common for DevOps roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for DevOps engineers in Washington. DevOps roles typically qualify as specialty occupations because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT extension can work for sponsoring employers while an H-1B petition is pending. The O-1A is an option for engineers with exceptional records of achievement.
How to find devops visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?

For Washington, you can narrow results to Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond, where DevOps sponsorship activity is highest. The platform surfaces roles across cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, and site reliability, making it easier to match your specialization to Washington employers with a real sponsorship track record.
Which cities in Washington have the most DevOps sponsorship jobs?
Seattle accounts for the largest share of DevOps sponsorship jobs in Washington, driven by its concentration of major tech employers and a dense ecosystem of startups and cloud-native companies. Bellevue and Redmond are close behind, with Microsoft's headquarters anchoring significant DevOps hiring in Redmond. Kirkland also sees notable activity. Outside the greater Seattle area, DevOps sponsorship opportunities are considerably more limited.
Are there any Washington-specific factors DevOps candidates should know before applying?
Washington has no state income tax, which effectively increases take-home pay relative to states like California or New York at comparable compensation levels. Seattle's tech density means DevOps candidates often find multiple competing offers, but it also means sponsoring employers have established immigration processes and legal teams familiar with H-1B filings. Washington's strong university pipeline, including the University of Washington, also means employers in the state are accustomed to hiring international engineering talent.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored devops jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
