ABOUT THE TEAM
The Audible Fintech (PaymenTech) team owns the systems that power royalty payments, recoupable advances, and financial reporting across all of Audible's marketplaces. We build and operate the full payment pipeline — from ingesting royalty transactions, to orchestrating disbursements, to creating vendor invoices and payments in Workday — giving us end-to-end accountability for every dollar Audible pays its content partners. We are migrating Audible's financial systems onto Amazon's Digital Acceleration (DA) platform, unifying contract management, royalty payments, advances, and reporting into a single, scalable, and auditable ecosystem. We are building next-generation, no-touch payment and accounting systems with compliance and auditability built in by default, so Audible's finance teams can focus on driving the business forward rather than managing operational friction.
ABOUT YOU
You’re in your element when you’re being challenged, and you’re always eager to share your ideas, take on responsibility and keep developing at an exciting pace. We look for people who show initiative, set their standards high and see every failure as an opportunity to learn. You’re looking for an environment where you can thrive and help your team reach their potential. New Jersey-based and New Jersey-operating media employers with F-1 OPT sponsorship history include news organizations headquartered in Newark and Jersey City, digital publishing companies with offices along the Hudson waterfront, and regional newspaper groups serving North Jersey and South Jersey markets. Larger national outlets with New Jersey bureaus, such as those covering financial and business news from the greater New York metro area, have also sponsored OPT candidates in editorial and data roles.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most news and publishing F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Newark and Jersey City concentrate the highest number of news and publishing sponsorship opportunities in New Jersey, given their proximity to the New York media market and strong transportation links. Hoboken hosts several digital media and content companies. Trenton sees demand tied to government and political reporting. Princeton has academic publishing and research communication roles. Smaller but active markets include Cherry Hill and Atlantic City for regional journalism positions.
What types of news and publishing roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship?
Roles that commonly qualify include digital content producer, data journalist, audience analytics specialist, social media editor, video journalist, copy editor, editorial project coordinator, and UX writer for news platforms. Positions in SEO and content strategy at publishing companies also qualify. The common thread is that the role connects to the degree field the OPT authorization covers, whether that is journalism, communications, computer science for data journalism, or a related discipline.
How do I find news and publishing F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for news and publishing employers in New Jersey that have a verified F-1 OPT sponsorship history, saving you from applying to companies that have never sponsored international candidates. Search by role type, city, and authorization type to surface relevant openings in editorial, digital production, and audience development. Migrate Mate surfaces employer-level sponsorship data so you can prioritize your applications toward companies already familiar with OPT authorization requirements.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in New Jersey's news and publishing sector?
New Jersey employers in news and publishing frequently hire for roles that serve both the local New Jersey market and the broader New York metro audience, which means some positions involve cross-state work. OPT authorization is tied to the specific role and degree field, so candidates should confirm that their degree program aligns with the job description before applying. STEM OPT extension is available for qualifying technology-adjacent roles, such as data journalism or publishing platform development, when the degree falls under an eligible STEM classification recognized by USCIS.
