Which medical devices companies sponsor F-1 OPT visas in New Jersey?
Several large medical devices employers in New Jersey have established OPT hiring patterns, including Johnson & Johnson (based in New Brunswick), Becton Dickinson (Franklin Lakes), Integra LifeSciences (Plainsboro), and Siemens Healthineers (Malvern-area operations with NJ presence). Smaller contract manufacturers and diagnostics firms across the state also hire OPT candidates, particularly for engineering, quality, and regulatory roles where recent graduate training is directly applicable.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most medical devices F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
The highest concentration of medical devices F-1 OPT roles tends to cluster around Franklin Lakes, Parsippany, and Princeton in the north and central corridor, driven by corporate headquarters and R&D campuses. The Route 1 belt between New Brunswick and Princeton also sees steady hiring due to proximity to Rutgers University and major life sciences employers. Morris and Somerset counties host significant device manufacturing and regulatory operations as well.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship?
Roles that align directly with STEM degrees qualify most reliably for F-1 OPT and the 24-month STEM OPT extension. In medical devices, these commonly include R&D engineering, quality engineering, regulatory affairs, manufacturing process engineering, clinical data analysis, and software development for embedded or diagnostic systems. Positions requiring a direct connection between your degree field and the job function are the strongest candidates for both standard and STEM OPT authorization.
How do I find medical devices F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate specializes in visa sponsorship job matching and lists medical devices roles in New Jersey filtered specifically for F-1 OPT candidates. Rather than sorting through general job boards and guessing at sponsorship willingness, Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have demonstrated OPT hiring. Searching by industry and state on Migrate Mate lets you focus your applications on New Jersey medical devices companies actively open to OPT candidates.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 OPT in New Jersey medical devices?
New Jersey's life sciences sector is heavily regulated, so many medical devices roles require familiarity with FDA quality system regulations, which can make candidates with relevant academic or internship backgrounds more competitive. Because the state hosts several device company headquarters, regulatory affairs and quality assurance positions are common entry points for OPT candidates. STEM OPT extensions are particularly valuable here since many device engineering roles lead to H-1B visa sponsorship consideration at renewal.
