Search Medical Devices Jobs in ColoradoMedical Devices OPT Sponsorship Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
Which medical devices companies in Colorado sponsor F-1 OPT visas?
Several Colorado-based and nationally operating medical devices companies have a history of hiring OPT-eligible candidates, including Medtronic, DaVita, Envision Healthcare, and smaller contract manufacturers in the Denver and Boulder areas. Larger companies with established HR and legal infrastructure are generally more equipped to manage OPT work authorization documentation, including verifying CPT or OPT employment eligibility through standard I-9 processes.
Which cities in Colorado have the most medical devices F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Denver and its surrounding suburbs, including Englewood and Lakewood, account for the largest concentration of medical devices employers in Colorado. Boulder is also notable, particularly for biomedical engineering and medical technology startups connected to the University of Colorado ecosystem. Colorado Springs has a smaller but growing presence in medical manufacturing roles. Most OPT-eligible job seekers focus their search on the Denver metro for the broadest set of opportunities.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship?
Roles that directly apply a degree-field skill set are the most straightforward fit for F-1 OPT authorization. In medical devices, these commonly include biomedical engineering, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, research and development, and clinical applications. The work must be directly related to your field of study. General administrative or sales support roles are less likely to satisfy the OPT employment authorization requirement, so alignment between your degree and job function matters.
How do I find medical devices F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and visa holders, and filters jobs by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to browse medical devices F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Colorado without manually sifting through postings that don't apply to you. Beyond the platform, targeting Colorado-based life sciences employers directly and networking through University of Colorado or Colorado State University career programs can surface additional opportunities in this sector.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in medical devices?
Colorado has no state-level visa sponsorship requirements that differ from federal F-1 OPT rules, but the medical devices industry here does have a strong quality and regulatory culture driven by FDA compliance demands. Employers in this sector often require background checks and may have specific documentation requirements for contract or project-based roles. International students on STEM OPT extensions should confirm that their employer has a current E-Verify enrollment, which is a federal requirement for the 24-month STEM extension.
