- Development and testing of single-photon sensitive vibrometer and communications systems.
- Experimental validation and characterization of optical components and subsystems.
- Support of research on optical fault detection methodologies based on vibrometry.
- Development of recording techniques for entangled photons used in secure communication and data processing systems.
- Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (G R & R) testing to ensure measurement consistency and reliability in field and lab environments.
- Collaborations with multi-disciplinary teams (hardware, software, firmware) to refine system performance.
Required Skills And Experience
- Master’s or PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with laser systems, free-space optics, and fiber optics.
- Background in optoelectronics and WDM techniques for telecom applications.
- Familiarity with LiDAR principles, time-of-flight measurements, and single-photon detection.
- Experience with optical metrology and statistical measurement systems analysis (G R & R studies).

Which artificial intelligence companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in New Jersey?
Several large employers in New Jersey have consistent STEM OPT sponsorship histories in AI-related roles. These include Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, Cognizant in Teaneck, Conduent in Florham Park, and financial services firms concentrated in Jersey City such as Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase. Pharmaceutical and life sciences companies along the Route 1 corridor also hire AI and machine learning engineers with STEM OPT authorization.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most artificial intelligence F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City and Newark attract the highest concentration of AI sponsorship roles due to their proximity to Manhattan and strong financial technology presence. Princeton and the surrounding Route 1 corridor host pharmaceutical and research-driven AI positions. Teaneck, Parsippany, and Florham Park are also active markets, anchored by large IT services and consulting firms that routinely hire STEM OPT candidates for data science and machine learning roles.
What types of artificial intelligence roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify must fall under STEM-designated Classification of Instructional Programs codes tied to the student's degree. In artificial intelligence, qualifying positions typically include machine learning engineer, data scientist, computer vision engineer, natural language processing researcher, and AI software developer. The position must require the application of STEM knowledge directly. O*NET occupation profiles can help confirm whether a specific job title aligns with a STEM-eligible degree field.
How do I find artificial intelligence F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for artificial intelligence roles in New Jersey that have verified STEM OPT sponsorship histories, using DOL Labor Condition Application filing data. This helps you identify which employers have actually filed for STEM workers in AI disciplines rather than relying on employer self-reporting. Filtering by New Jersey narrows results to the state's pharmaceutical, financial services, and technology employer clusters most relevant to AI candidates.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in artificial intelligence?
New Jersey requires STEM OPT employers to be enrolled in E-Verify, consistent with federal requirements. Given the state's concentration of pharmaceutical and financial services firms, many AI roles involve regulated data environments, which may affect the specifics of your training plan under the Form I-983. New Jersey employers in healthcare and finance are also subject to additional compliance frameworks that can influence how STEM OPT training agreements are structured, so reviewing these details with your DSO is advisable.
