Which education companies in New Jersey sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas?
ETS (Educational Testing Service) in Princeton, Pearson's U.S. operations based in Hoboken, and Rutgers University across its New Brunswick and Newark campuses have documented histories of filing Labor Condition Applications for STEM-designated roles. Smaller edtech firms in Jersey City's tech corridor also sponsor data engineering, software development, and learning analytics positions for F-1 STEM OPT holders.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most education F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Princeton leads due to ETS headquarters and proximity to Princeton University's affiliated vendors. Newark and New Brunswick follow, anchored by Rutgers University's research and administrative operations. Hoboken and Jersey City attract edtech and education technology companies given their proximity to New York City. Parsippany and Florham Park host corporate training and e-learning firm offices that occasionally sponsor STEM OPT candidates.
How do I find education F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters education sector jobs in New Jersey specifically by F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship history, using DOL Labor Condition Application data to surface employers who have actively filed for STEM-designated roles. You can search by job title, city, and employer to identify companies with verified sponsorship records rather than relying on unconfirmed job postings. This makes it straightforward to focus your applications on education employers with a documented track record in New Jersey.
What types of education roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in New Jersey?
Roles that qualify must fall under a STEM-designated Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code matched to your degree. In New Jersey's education sector, qualifying positions commonly include data analyst, software engineer, learning engineer, instructional technology specialist, and psychometrician roles at assessment companies and universities. General teaching, administrative, or non-technical education coordinator positions typically do not meet the STEM OPT specialty occupation threshold required for sponsorship.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in New Jersey's education sector?
New Jersey employers sponsoring F-1 STEM OPT students must comply with the federal E-Verify enrollment requirement, mandatory for all STEM OPT employers nationwide. Within New Jersey specifically, large education institutions like Rutgers are subject to state procurement and public employer rules that can affect internal hiring timelines. Edtech firms operating in New Jersey's Urban Enterprise Zones may have additional state-level compliance obligations that interact with federal sponsorship paperwork, so confirming an employer's E-Verify status before applying is advisable.
