Which accounting companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in New Jersey?
The Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, all have offices in New Jersey and have historically filed Labor Condition Applications for accounting and finance roles. Large financial services employers headquartered in the state, including insurance companies and pharmaceutical firms in Morris and Somerset counties, also sponsor F-1 STEM OPT candidates for qualifying analytical accounting positions.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most accounting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Newark and Jersey City lead in accounting sponsorship activity, given their proximity to New York City financial markets and concentration of corporate finance offices. Parsippany, Florham Park, and Princeton are also strong markets, hosting regional headquarters for large multinationals with active accounting and audit practices. Edison and Iselin attract mid-size employers in the financial services and pharmaceutical sectors.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles with strong STEM OPT eligibility in accounting include financial analyst positions, data analytics roles within audit or advisory practices, tax technology analyst positions, and forensic accounting roles that emphasize quantitative methods. The position must fall under a STEM-designated Classification of Instructional Programs code tied to your degree. Standard bookkeeping or general ledger roles without a quantitative or analytical component are less likely to qualify.
How do I find accounting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate lets you filter accounting jobs in New Jersey specifically by F-1 STEM OPT visa sponsorship history, so you can focus on employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for roles matching your background. This is more efficient than filtering generic job boards by location and visa type separately. Searching by employer LCA history in accounting and auditing gives you a verified starting point for outreach.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT accounting sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey's concentration of pharmaceutical, financial services, and insurance companies means many accounting roles involve industry-specific compliance work, which can strengthen a STEM OPT application when the role requires quantitative analysis. New Jersey also borders New York City, so some employers offer roles based in New Jersey while drawing from a broader metro talent pool. Confirm your degree's CIP code qualifies for STEM OPT with your Designated School Official before applying.
