Which transportation companies in New Jersey sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas?
New Jersey's transportation and logistics sector includes major employers with documented STEM OPT hiring histories, including Amazon, FedEx, UPS, XPO Logistics, and Maersk, which operate distribution centers, freight terminals, and regional headquarters across the state. Carriers and third-party logistics providers based near the Port of Newark and Port Elizabeth have also filed Labor Condition Applications for STEM-eligible roles in supply chain engineering and transportation analytics.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most transportation F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Newark, Elizabeth, Edison, and Parsippany see the highest concentration of transportation and logistics roles with STEM OPT sponsorship potential in New Jersey. Newark and Elizabeth benefit from proximity to the Port of New York and New Jersey, one of the busiest ports on the East Coast. Parsippany and Edison attract corporate logistics and supply chain engineering positions tied to regional headquarters for freight and third-party logistics companies.
What types of transportation roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for STEM OPT authorization in transportation generally require a STEM-classified degree and involve quantitative or engineering-based work. Common qualifying titles include supply chain analyst, transportation engineer, logistics data analyst, operations research analyst, and fleet optimization engineer. Positions focused primarily on driving, dispatching, or physical freight handling without a technical degree requirement typically do not meet the STEM OPT specialty occupation standard reviewed by USCIS.
How do I find transportation F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate filters transportation job listings specifically by visa type and state, letting you search for New Jersey employers with verified F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship histories in logistics, supply chain, and transportation engineering. You can also review DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data through the OFLC Wage Search tool to confirm which New Jersey transportation employers have filed for STEM-eligible roles before applying.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in New Jersey's transportation industry?
New Jersey does not impose state-level restrictions on F-1 STEM OPT employment, but employers must comply with federal E-Verify enrollment requirements that apply to all STEM OPT participants. New Jersey's dense logistics infrastructure and proximity to major ports and rail corridors means sponsoring employers often require candidates to work on-site or in hybrid arrangements, which can affect your designated campus official's ability to update your training plan with SEVP as required during the OPT period.
