Search Accounting Jobs in ColoradoAccounting STEM OPT Sponsorship Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
Which accounting companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Colorado?
The Big Four firms, Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG, all have Colorado offices and have historically filed Labor Condition Applications for accounting and finance roles. Regional firms such as Plante Moran and Eide Bailly also operate in Colorado and have sponsored international candidates. Technology companies with large finance teams, including those headquartered in the Denver Tech Center, are additional sources of F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship for accounting graduates.
Which cities in Colorado have the most accounting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Denver is by far the most active market for accounting F-1 STEM OPT roles, home to the Colorado Convention financial district, major corporate headquarters, and Big Four offices. Boulder follows, with a concentration of technology companies that employ financial analysts and management accountants. Colorado Springs has a smaller but steady accounting market tied to defense contractors and regional businesses. Fort Collins is an emerging option given its growing technology sector.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles classified under STEM degree classifications for Financial Analysts, Management Analysts, Budget Analysts, and Cost Estimators typically meet the STEM OPT designation criteria. Positions like financial reporting analyst, FP&A analyst, forensic accountant, and data-driven audit associate often qualify because they require quantitative skills tied to STEM-classified degree programs such as accounting analytics or financial engineering. Purely clerical bookkeeping roles generally do not meet the specialty occupation threshold for STEM OPT.
How do I find accounting F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for accounting and auditing roles in Colorado that are open to F-1 STEM OPT candidates, showing verified employer sponsorship history drawn from DOL Labor Condition Application data. This removes the guesswork of identifying which Colorado employers have actually filed for international accounting hires. You can narrow results by city, role type, and STEM OPT eligibility to focus your applications on employers with a documented sponsorship track record.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT accounting sponsorship?
Colorado has no state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal USCIS rules, but the state's strong CPA licensure culture means many accounting employers prefer or require candidates to be on a path to Colorado CPA certification. International accounting graduates should verify that their degree program holds the STEM OPT-eligible STEM degree classification designation with their DSO before applying, as some traditional accounting programs are classified separately from analytics-focused accounting degrees that clearly qualify.
