ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs, maintains and troubleshoots all heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
- Monitors cooling and heating zones to ensure maintenance of required comfort levels.
- Inspects all HVAC equipment and control systems for proper operation and cleanliness.
- Completes preventive and corrective maintenance on all specified equipment.
- Maintains documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
- Works with other staff on projects as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school level of knowledge.
- Completion of basic HVAC courses at an accredited vocational or technical school.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
- Minimum of three years of HVAC trade experience.
- Ability to operate a variety of plant equipment, hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment operation and repair.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to independently take initiative and exercise good judgment in decision-making.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadline pressures and to simultaneously handle multiple projects.
- Professional maturity that daily sets the tone in carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
- High degree of honesty, integrity and confidentiality.
- Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned.
- Ability to work under stress.
MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
- Certified refrigerant recycling card.
- Journeyman mechanical card and/or completion of the New York state apprenticeship program for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration desirable.
- Must possess a valid New York state driver's license.
