We will equip you with tools and a vehicle to perform your job at the highest standard. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
How you will do it
- Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
- Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement.
- Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs.
- You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.
- You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year.
- Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
- 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
- Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
- Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site.
- Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently.
- Prioritize safety in all forms.
- This position requires a valid driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis.
- This is a Bargaining Unit Position.
COMPENSATION
- Pay Range: $21.60-$23 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
