INTRODUCTION
The Senior Manager of Product (Technical Delivery) is a strong individual contributor who owns delivery tasks and documentation with growing scope and independence. This person contributes across all five pillars of strategic product management — from surfacing requirements in discovery through managing execution, tracking quality, and supporting iteration — and is building the skills to navigate trade-off conversations and client communication on their own. They lead end-to-end product strategy and execution by leveraging deep knowledge of the product development lifecycle to deliver customer-focused solutions. They use AI tools daily and with confidence — in documentation, backlog management, prototyping, and requirements analysis — and are developing a clear point of view on where automation genuinely improves delivery quality and where precision demands direct human judgment.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Discovery: Contribute to requirements discovery — synthesizing stakeholder input, reviewing technical documentation, and surfacing the functional and non-functional needs that must be captured in product specs
-
Strategy & Vision: Maintain accurate, up-to-date product documentation that reflects current priorities and roadmap direction; flag when specs or stories drift from the agreed strategic intent
-
Prioritization: Own backlog grooming for defined product areas — writing and refining tickets, flagging inconsistencies, gaps, or scope risks, and supporting sprint planning with well-prepared materials
-
Analysis: Track QA outcomes, acceptance criteria results, and sprint velocity; use that data to surface delivery patterns and recommend process or specification improvements
-
Execution: Support sprint ceremonies with preparation and follow-through; collaborate with engineering to clarify requirements, review test cases, and ensure work is delivered to spec
-
Use AI tools confidently as a core part of daily documentation and delivery workflow — developing a point of view on where automation improves throughput and accuracy, and where careful human review is non-negotiable
-
Support Associate Directors and Directors with scoping and delivery planning; provide constructive guidance to Managers and Associates
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
-
4+ years of experience in technical product management, business analysis, or delivery-focused roles, with a demonstrated ability to own defined delivery workstreams
-
Strong working knowledge of agile delivery — comfortable writing user stories, grooming a backlog, running sprint ceremonies, and tracking QA outcomes with limited oversight
-
Growing fluency in platform and technical documentation sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineering and flag risks before they become problems
-
Developing client communication skills: able to update stakeholders on delivery status, flag scope issues proactively, and begin navigating trade-off conversations
-
Confident, daily use of AI tools in prototyping, documentation and delivery workflow — with a developing point of view on where automation genuinely improves quality and where human review remains essential
-
Reliable delivery of complex tasks with limited supervision; strong attention to detail and a systems-oriented approach to product documentation
-
Early experience providing guidance to junior practitioners; a growth mindset and genuine investment in developing delivery craft

Which companies sponsor visas for product managers in New York?
Several large employers in New York have consistent track records of sponsoring product managers for work visas. These include major tech firms like Google, Amazon, and Meta, financial institutions like JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup, and media and data companies like Bloomberg and Spotify. Startups in the Flatiron and Brooklyn tech districts also sponsor, though less predictably than enterprise employers.
Which visa types are most common for product manager roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product managers in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, business, or engineering. Candidates with extraordinary ability may qualify for an O-1. Australians should explore the E-3 visa, which follows a similar process to the H-1B but without the annual lottery.
Which cities in New York have the most product manager sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the overwhelming majority of product manager sponsorship activity in New York state, particularly in Midtown and the Flatiron District where tech, finance, and media companies concentrate. Brooklyn, specifically the DUMBO and Industry City areas, has a growing cluster of mid-stage startups that hire product managers internationally. Outside New York City, sponsorship opportunities are limited and largely tied to universities or healthcare systems.
How to find product manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa sponsorship roles, including product manager positions in New York. You can filter by role and state to see employers currently sponsoring, rather than applying broadly and discovering late in the process that a company won't sponsor. Given how competitive the New York product manager market is, targeting verified sponsoring employers from the start saves significant time.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for product managers seeking visa sponsorship?
New York's high cost of living means prevailing wage requirements for H-1B product manager roles tend to be among the highest in the country, which can affect whether smaller employers are willing to sponsor. The state also has a dense pipeline of international graduate talent from Columbia, NYU, and Cornell Tech, meaning competition for sponsored roles is intense. Product managers with specialized backgrounds in fintech, adtech, or enterprise SaaS tend to have stronger positioning with New York employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
