Which companies sponsor visas for product managers in Maryland?
Federal contractors and technology firms are the most active sponsors for product managers in Maryland. Companies like Leidos, Booz Allen Hamilton, Northrop Grumman, Tenable, and Maximus have filed Labor Condition Applications for product management roles in recent years. Life sciences employers in the Baltimore-Frederick corridor, including companies supporting NIH-adjacent research, also sponsor product managers with relevant domain expertise.
Which visa types are most common for product manager roles in Maryland?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for product managers in Maryland, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or business. The L-1B intracompany transferee visa is also used by multinational firms with Maryland offices. Candidates from Australia may consider the E-3 visa, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify under TN visa status.
Which cities in Maryland have the most product manager sponsorship jobs?
Bethesda and Rockville lead for product manager sponsorship, driven by federal contractors and health technology companies clustered along the I-270 technology corridor. Baltimore is a secondary hub, particularly for cybersecurity and life sciences product roles. Columbia and Annapolis also see demand from mid-size technology firms. Proximity to Washington D.C. means many Maryland-based employers operate across the state line, expanding the effective job market considerably.
How to find product manager visa sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters product manager roles by sponsorship willingness, so you're not sorting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. For Maryland, focus your search on the Baltimore-Washington corridor and filter by federal contractor and technology sectors. Migrate Mate surfaces roles where employers have a demonstrated history of H-1B and other visa filings for product management positions.
Are there state-specific considerations for product managers seeking sponsorship in Maryland?
Maryland's concentration of federal contractors introduces a key consideration: many roles require security clearances, which non-citizens can face difficulty obtaining, particularly at the Secret or Top Secret level. This narrows the pool of sponsoring employers for international product managers. However, commercial technology, biotech, and health IT sectors around Baltimore and Rockville hire product managers without clearance requirements and have active sponsorship track records through DOL filings.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product manager jobs in Maryland?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
