- Working with Designers, Product Managers, Data Analysts, and other UX Researchers to define and research questions and identify opportunities for insights in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Supporting the User Research roadmap, working with your manager and other UX Researchers to ensure stakeholder and product needs are met and aligned to achieve organizational KPIs and goals
- Communicating and socializing research findings effectively, translating insights into actionable recommendations
- Vendor management, as needed on specific projects
- Leveraging innovative research methodologies and AI-enabled tools to streamline efficient and repeatable workflows
- Championing a consumer-centric mindset throughout the organization
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience conducting UX research including experience executing product research projects from study design through fielding, synthesis, and reporting
- Skilled at employing a number of qualitative and quantitative research methods — including surveys, moderated and unmoderated usability studies, in-depth interviews, diary studies, card sort exercises, etc.
- Understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development lifecycle
- Familiarity with statistics and experience using survey tools like Qualtrics
- Demonstrated success using data and insights to influence product decisions and impact product direction
- Ability to connect insights and themes across research projects
- Balance of effort across multiple projects simultaneously
- Clear written and verbal communication, strong data storytelling and presentation skills
- Experience partnering closely with designers, product managers, and data analysts
Desirable Characteristics:
- A genuine passion for entertainment and media, and a deep curiosity about culture and trends as they relate to products and user experiences
- Demonstrated experience:
- Designing and executing quantitative research across a variety of analytical approaches
- Researching streaming products, sports experiences, and/or mobile games
- Managing projects and working in a large, matrixed organization
- Basic understanding of behavioral user analytics and how to incorporate behavioral analytics into UX research efforts
Additional Requirements:
- Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Which companies sponsor visas for senior researchers in New York?
Pfizer, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, IBM Research, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, and Rockefeller University are among the most consistent sponsors of senior researcher roles in New York. Major research universities such as Columbia, Cornell, and NYU also file significant numbers of sponsorship petitions annually for research staff at the senior level.
Which visa types are most common for senior researcher roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most widely used visa for senior researchers in New York, as most roles require at least a master's degree in a specific scientific or technical field, meeting the specialty occupation requirement. Researchers with exceptional records of published work or awards may qualify for the O-1A. Academic and nonprofit research institutions can file H-1B petitions year-round outside the annual cap.
Which cities in New York have the most senior researcher sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the largest concentration, driven by its density of hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, financial research firms, and universities. Tarrytown and the Hudson Valley corridor are significant for life sciences, anchored by Regeneron. Albany hosts state government research bodies and university research centers, while Buffalo and Rochester have growing academic research pipelines through SUNY and University of Rochester.
How to find senior researcher visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter by role and state to browse senior researcher positions in New York from employers with a documented history of sponsoring work visas. This makes it straightforward to identify relevant openings without sifting through listings from employers who do not sponsor.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for senior researcher visa sponsorship?
New York employers sponsoring H-1B workers must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are benchmarked to local wage data and tend to reflect the high cost of living in New York City in particular. Senior researcher roles at nonprofits and universities benefit from cap-exempt H-1B status, allowing petitions to be filed at any time of year. New York State's concentration of NIH-funded research institutions also supports a strong pipeline for J-1 visa research exchange placements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored senior researcher jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
