Which companies sponsor visas for cloud solutions engineers in North Carolina?
Several large employers in North Carolina have consistent records of sponsoring work visas for cloud solutions engineers. Cisco Systems and IBM operate significant engineering hubs in Research Triangle Park. Lenovo's North American headquarters in Morrisville, SAS Institute in Cary, and Red Hat in Raleigh are also active sponsors. Charlotte-based financial firms like Bank of America and Truist regularly sponsor cloud engineering roles tied to their technology modernization programs.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions engineer roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B visa is the most common work visa for cloud solutions engineers in North Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. L-1B visas are also used when engineers transfer from an overseas office of the same employer. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and faster processing.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most cloud solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Cary, concentrates the highest number of cloud solutions engineer sponsorship opportunities in North Carolina. Research Triangle Park itself hosts dozens of multinational tech and life sciences companies. Charlotte is the second-largest hub, driven by its financial services industry and the cloud infrastructure needs of major banks. Morrisville and Chapel Hill also see consistent hiring from companies like Cisco and UNC Health.
How to find cloud solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search cloud solutions engineer roles in North Carolina without having to sift through listings from employers who don't sponsor. The platform surfaces positions from companies with verified sponsorship histories across the Research Triangle, Charlotte, and Morrisville. Setting up role and location filters on Migrate Mate helps you track new postings as they appear from active sponsors in the state.
Are there any North Carolina-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for cloud solutions engineers?
North Carolina participates in federal prevailing wage requirements, meaning employers sponsoring H-1B visas must pay cloud solutions engineers at or above the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the relevant geographic area. Wages in the Research Triangle and Charlotte are benchmarked separately, so offers can differ by city. The state's strong university pipeline from NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke also means many employers have established sponsorship processes already in place for international graduates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions engineer jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
