The CAD Designer for Telecom Outside Plant (OSP) New Product Development supports the development of next-generation telecom products by transforming conceptual ideas into detailed engineering designs. The role works closely with laboratory engineers and cross-functional teams to incorporate Telcordia Generic Requirements (GR) and internal standards into quality product designs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Update and revise designs based on engineering changes and feedback.
- Ensure designs meet specifications, standards, and manufacturability requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams.
- Organize and manage CAD files and related documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Training and experience in 3D modeling using Creo.
- Proficiency with CREO software.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and materials.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in an engineering-related field.
- Experience in product development or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with SAP-based PLM systems and revision control processes.
