Which companies sponsor visas for cleaning jobs in Ohio?
Large healthcare systems such as Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, and the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center have histories of sponsoring workers in facilities and environmental services roles. National facility management contractors like ABM Industries and Sodexo, which operate across Ohio's hospitals, universities, and commercial properties, have also filed sponsorship petitions for cleaning and janitorial positions.
Which visa types are most common for cleaning roles in Ohio?
H-2B is the most common visa for seasonal or temporary cleaning work in Ohio, used by hospitality and commercial cleaning employers during peak periods. For full-time, permanent positions, some employers pursue EB-3 (unskilled or other worker) green card sponsorship. H-1B is generally not applicable to cleaning roles, as these positions do not require a specialty occupation degree.
Which cities in Ohio have the most cleaning sponsorship jobs?
Columbus has the highest concentration of sponsored cleaning roles, driven by its large hospital systems, universities, and growing hospitality sector. Cleveland follows closely, with major medical campuses and commercial office buildings generating consistent demand. Cincinnati and Dayton also have active markets, particularly around manufacturing facilities, hotels, and healthcare campuses that rely on contracted facility services.
How to find cleaning visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find cleaning visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio, with listings filtered specifically by role and state so you are not sorting through positions that do not offer sponsorship. Beyond browsing Migrate Mate, targeting large healthcare employers, national facility services contractors, and hotel management companies in Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati improves your chances of finding employers with established sponsorship processes.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for cleaning workers seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio employers sponsoring workers through H-2B or EB-3 pathways must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which set a floor for what sponsored workers in cleaning roles must be paid based on the specific county and job classification. Ohio's large healthcare and university sectors tend to have more structured HR processes for sponsorship compared to smaller independent cleaning businesses, which rarely have the infrastructure to file petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cleaning jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
