Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for clinical support specialists?
Large health systems are the most consistent sponsors in Ohio. Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, UC Health, and the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center have established HR infrastructure for H-1B and other work visa petitions. Smaller community hospitals and outpatient clinics sponsor less frequently. Academic medical centers affiliated with Ohio's research universities tend to have more experience navigating the sponsorship process for clinical roles.
Which visa types are most common for clinical support specialist roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common work visa for clinical support specialists in Ohio, particularly for roles requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant health sciences field. Some positions may qualify under the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role aligns with an eligible USMCA occupation. International candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT often transition to employer-sponsored H-1B status through the annual lottery.
Which cities in Ohio have the most clinical support specialist visa sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads in volume, anchored by OhioHealth and the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Cleveland follows closely, driven by Cleveland Clinic's extensive multisite operations across Northeast Ohio. Cincinnati is a strong third, with UC Health and TriHealth operating large clinical networks. Dayton and Toledo have smaller but active markets, primarily through regional hospital systems and Veterans Affairs medical facilities.
How to find clinical support specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters clinical support specialist roles in Ohio by visa sponsorship status, saving you from sorting through postings that won't work for your situation. You can browse active openings across Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and other Ohio markets. Because large health systems like Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth post sponsorship-eligible roles regularly, checking Migrate Mate frequently improves your chances of catching new openings early.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for clinical support specialists seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio's concentration of academic medical centers and teaching hospitals creates a meaningful pipeline for international candidates, particularly those with graduate training from Ohio State, Case Western Reserve, or Cincinnati's health sciences programs. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific role and location, which is publicly verifiable through DOL disclosure data. Roles tied to federally funded research grants at university hospitals may also open pathways through J-1 exchange visitor programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical support specialist jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
