Which companies sponsor visas for engineering managers in Ohio?
Ohio's largest visa sponsors for engineering manager roles include Progressive Insurance and Nationwide in Columbus, Sherwin-Williams and KeyBank in Cleveland, and Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati. Intel's planned Ohio fab expansion has also added engineering management demand. Consulting firms like Deloitte and Accenture, which maintain Ohio delivery centers, also sponsor engineering managers through H-1B and L-1 petitions.
Which visa types are most common for engineering manager roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for engineering managers in Ohio, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Multinational companies like Procter and Gamble and consulting firms also use the L-1A intraoperability visa for managers transferring from overseas offices into Ohio leadership roles.
Which cities in Ohio have the most engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for engineering manager sponsorship activity, driven by its fintech, insurance tech, and healthcare IT employers. Cleveland is a secondary hub with strength in manufacturing technology, financial services, and biomedical engineering. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, anchored by consumer goods and chemical engineering sectors. Dayton and Akron also see periodic demand from defense contractors and polymer industry employers.
How to find engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters engineering manager jobs in Ohio specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through postings that don't apply to international candidates. The platform aggregates roles from Ohio-based employers across Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Searching for engineering manager positions on Migrate Mate lets you focus on companies that have an active sponsorship history rather than contacting employers speculatively.
Are there state-specific considerations for engineering manager visa sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B engineering manager roles are set at the metropolitan level, meaning Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati each have distinct wage determinations filed with the Department of Labor through the Labor Condition Application process. Ohio also has a strong pipeline of engineering talent from Ohio State, Case Western Reserve, and the University of Cincinnati, which means employers in those metros are generally familiar with visa sponsorship processes for technical leadership roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering manager jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
