Which companies sponsor visas for operations interns in Ohio?
Large Ohio-based manufacturers and logistics companies are the most likely sponsors for operations intern roles. Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Emerson Electric, and major healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic have structured internship programs that occasionally extend to visa sponsorship. Multinational corporations with Ohio operations, particularly in supply chain and manufacturing, are more likely to sponsor than smaller regional firms.
Which visa types are most common for operations intern roles in Ohio?
Most international students doing operations internships in Ohio work under F-1 OPT or CPT, which allows paid work without employer-sponsored visa petitions. For post-graduation roles converting from an internship, H-1B visa is the primary pathway, though it requires employer sponsorship and goes through an annual lottery. Some Canadian or Mexican nationals may also qualify under the TN visa category for certain operations-related roles.
Which cities in Ohio have the most operations intern sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads in volume due to its concentration of corporate headquarters, logistics operations, and proximity to Ohio State University's large international student population. Cincinnati follows, driven by consumer goods and manufacturing firms including Procter & Gamble. Cleveland is strong in healthcare operations and industrial manufacturing. Dayton and Akron round out the market with aerospace and polymer industry opportunities respectively.
How to find operations intern visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is a dedicated platform for international job seekers that filters operations intern roles in Ohio by visa sponsorship availability, saving you time versus searching through general job boards. You can filter specifically by state and role type to surface employers who have sponsored international candidates before. Given that operations internships in Ohio are concentrated in manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare, filtering by those industries on Migrate Mate helps narrow results effectively.
What should international students know about operations intern roles in Ohio?
Ohio's strong manufacturing and supply chain sector means operations intern roles often require on-site presence, which affects CPT and OPT eligibility planning since the work location must align with your authorized employment. Ohio State, University of Cincinnati, and Case Western Reserve all have international student offices that assist with employment authorization paperwork. Starting the CPT or OPT application process early with your DSO is important, as processing times affect your start date.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations intern jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
