Which companies sponsor visas for data contributors in Oklahoma?
Larger Oklahoma employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for data contributor roles. These include energy companies like Williams Companies, ONEOK, and Devon Energy in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, as well as healthcare systems such as INTEGRIS Health and OU Health. State government contractors and technology firms supporting energy sector data infrastructure also appear in sponsorship filings, though sponsorship frequency varies by company size and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for data contributor roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa type for data contributor positions in Oklahoma, particularly at larger energy and healthcare employers who have the legal infrastructure to support petitions. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role qualifies under a covered occupation category. O-1 visas are less common but possible for candidates with demonstrable distinction in data-related fields. Each pathway depends on the specific role, employer, and individual qualifications.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most data contributor sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the vast majority of data contributor sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City benefits from a concentration of state government agencies, healthcare networks, and technology contractors. Tulsa is the hub for energy sector data roles, with companies like Williams Companies and ONEOK headquartered there. Outside these two cities, sponsorship opportunities become significantly less frequent given the smaller employer base in other Oklahoma markets.
How to find data contributor visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for data contributor roles in Oklahoma without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces openings at employers with active sponsorship programs in the state, including energy sector companies and healthcare organizations in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Filtering by role type and state allows international candidates to focus their applications efficiently.
What should international data contributors know about working in Oklahoma specifically?
Oklahoma's data contributor job market is heavily shaped by the energy sector, so candidates with experience in energy data, geospatial data, or operational data systems have a meaningful advantage over generalists. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University generate local STEM talent pipelines, so employer familiarity with OPT and STEM OPT candidates is relatively common among mid-to-large employers. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply statewide, and Oklahoma's lower cost of living means those wage thresholds are generally set below national averages for comparable roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data contributor jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
