Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for data contributor roles?
Adobe, Qualtrics, and Overstock are among the larger Utah employers with established visa sponsorship programs and active data teams. Several mid-sized tech companies clustered in the Silicon Slopes corridor between Salt Lake City and Lehi also file H-1B petitions for data-focused roles. Reviewing Department of Labor LCA disclosure data is a reliable way to identify which specific employers have sponsored similar positions.
Which visa types are most common for data contributor jobs in Utah?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa for data contributor roles in Utah, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or statistics. Some candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN status under the USMCA. Individuals with extraordinary ability in their field may also explore the O-1 category.
How to find data contributor visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse data contributor openings in Utah without sorting through roles that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by location and role type to focus on Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Provo, where the highest concentration of sponsoring employers in Utah's tech sector is found.
Which cities in Utah have the most data contributor visa sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City and Lehi account for the majority of data contributor sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by the Silicon Slopes tech corridor that runs along the Wasatch Front. Provo also has a meaningful presence, partly due to proximity to Brigham Young University and its graduate programs in data-related disciplines. Smaller markets like Ogden see occasional openings but at notably lower volume.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for data contributors seeking visa sponsorship?
Utah's tech sector is heavily weighted toward SaaS and enterprise software companies, which tend to have more structured immigration support programs than early-stage startups. The state's strong university pipeline, including the University of Utah and BYU, means employers are accustomed to hiring internationally trained candidates. Prevailing wage requirements still apply under Department of Labor rules, and employers must file a Labor Condition Application before sponsoring an H-1B for any data contributor position.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data contributor jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
