Which companies sponsor visas for investment roles in Oklahoma?
BOK Financial, one of the largest bank holding companies in the region, has sponsored foreign nationals for investment and financial analyst positions. Energy companies with investment divisions, including Devon Energy and ONEOK, also have records of H-1B sponsorship for finance-related roles. Larger national firms with Oklahoma offices, such as Charles Schwab and Fidelity, are additional sources of sponsorship for investment professionals.
Which visa types are most common for investment roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for investment professionals in Oklahoma, covering roles like financial analyst, portfolio manager, and investment associate that typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, or a related field. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrable extraordinary ability in finance. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying finance occupations under the USMCA agreement.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most investment sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the vast majority of investment sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City is home to major energy company headquarters with substantial treasury and investment functions, while Tulsa hosts BOK Financial's headquarters and a concentration of regional banking and wealth management operations. Smaller markets like Norman benefit from proximity to the University of Oklahoma, which creates some pipeline activity with financial firms.
How to find investment visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters investment roles by state, making it straightforward to browse current openings in Oklahoma. Rather than manually researching which employers have sponsored in the past, Migrate Mate surfaces positions from companies with active sponsorship histories. Focusing your search on Oklahoma City and Tulsa will return the highest concentration of investment-related results.
Are there state-specific considerations for investment roles and visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's investment hiring is heavily influenced by the energy sector, so candidates with finance backgrounds that intersect with commodities, energy markets, or natural resource economics are particularly competitive. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers for investment roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific metropolitan area, meaning wage standards in Tulsa and Oklahoma City are calculated separately. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University supply some OPT candidates that local financial firms recruit from directly.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored investment jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
