Which companies sponsor visas for business development roles in Oregon?
Intel, Nike, and Adidas are among Oregon's largest employers with established visa sponsorship programs for business development professionals. Portland-based technology companies, including several mid-sized SaaS firms, also sponsor international talent for partnerships, sales strategy, and market expansion roles. Semiconductor and clean energy companies in the Hillsboro and Beaverton corridors have also demonstrated consistent sponsorship activity in this function.
Which visa types are most common for business development roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development roles in Oregon, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business, marketing, or a technical discipline. The O-1A is an option for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary achievement. TN status is available to qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in specific business-related categories under USMCA.
Which cities in Oregon have the most business development sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of business development visa sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by its concentration of technology, software, and consumer goods companies. Beaverton and Hillsboro, home to Nike's world headquarters and Intel's major campus respectively, are also significant hiring centers. Eugene sees some sponsorship activity tied to the University of Oregon's business and entrepreneurship networks, though at a smaller scale.
How to find business development visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters business development roles in Oregon by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving significant time compared to searching general job boards. You can browse current openings from Oregon employers that have a history of sponsoring work visas for business development functions. Filtering by location and role on Migrate Mate helps you focus on companies actively hiring internationally rather than sorting through roles that don't support sponsorship.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for business development visa sponsorship?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor rules apply to H-1B filings, and compensation benchmarks in the Portland metro area reflect a competitive technology-sector market. Business development roles sometimes face additional scrutiny in specialty occupation determinations if the job description is generalist in nature, so employers in Oregon typically structure these positions around a specific technical or strategic discipline to support the H-1B petition. The state's strong university pipeline from Oregon State and University of Oregon also feeds OPT-to-sponsorship pathways.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
