Which companies sponsor visas for business development roles in Wisconsin?
Northwestern Mutual, American Family Insurance, and Epic Systems are among Wisconsin's larger employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories that include business-aligned roles. Manufacturing firms in the Fox Valley and healthcare organizations around Madison also periodically sponsor international candidates for business development positions, particularly when roles require specialized technical knowledge alongside client relationship responsibilities.
Which visa types are most common for business development roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development roles in Wisconsin, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business administration, marketing, or finance. Candidates with relevant advanced degrees may also explore the O-1A for extraordinary ability, while those from treaty countries should review E-3 visa or TN visa eligibility depending on nationality.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most business development sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for sponsored business development roles, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and professional services firms. Madison follows closely, supported by its health technology sector anchored by Epic Systems and a university-adjacent startup community. Green Bay and Appleton offer additional opportunities tied to manufacturing, paper industry supply chains, and regional commercial operations.
How to find business development visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse business development roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. You can filter by state and role type to surface opportunities at employers like Northwestern Mutual or Madison-area tech companies that have active sponsorship programs for commercially focused positions.
Are there any state-specific considerations for business development sponsorship candidates in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin doesn't impose state-level visa or sponsorship requirements beyond federal standards, but prevailing wage compliance under H-1B rules is determined by the Milwaukee or Madison metropolitan statistical areas depending on job location, which affects what employers must certify on the Labor Condition Application. Candidates should also note that Wisconsin's strongest sponsoring employers tend to be concentrated in insurance, health IT, and manufacturing, so aligning your background with those sectors improves sponsorship prospects.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
