Which companies sponsor visas for business development roles in Texas?
Several large Texas-based employers have consistent track records of sponsoring international workers in business development positions. These include Dell Technologies and NXP Semiconductors in Austin, AT&T and Texas Instruments in Dallas, and ExxonMobil, Schlumberger, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Houston. Enterprise software companies, management consulting firms, and healthcare technology companies operating in Texas have also filed Labor Condition Applications for business development titles.
Which visa types are most common for business development roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for business development professionals in Texas, provided the role requires a specialized degree such as business administration, finance, or a related field. The L-1B is common for intracompany transferees moving into business development roles at multinationals with Texas offices. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian and Mexican nationals should explore the TN visa under the USMCA.
Which cities in Texas have the most business development sponsorship jobs?
Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Houston account for the large majority of business development sponsorship activity in Texas. Austin's technology sector drives demand in SaaS and enterprise software. Dallas-Fort Worth is home to numerous Fortune 500 headquarters spanning telecommunications, finance, and retail. Houston's energy and petrochemical industries generate ongoing business development hiring. San Antonio has a growing cybersecurity and financial services presence worth monitoring as well.
How to find business development visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters business development roles in Texas by visa sponsorship willingness, so you are not sorting through listings from employers who do not sponsor. You can search by city, sector, or visa type to focus on Austin tech companies, Houston energy firms, or Dallas corporate headquarters. Migrate Mate surfaces employer sponsorship history, which is particularly useful when evaluating business development opportunities at mid-size Texas companies.
Are there any Texas-specific factors that affect business development visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations and total compensation benchmarking under H-1B Labor Condition Application requirements. The density of energy sector employers in Houston means business development roles there often require industry-specific credentials that can strengthen a specialty occupation argument. University pipelines from UT Austin, Rice University, and Texas A&M also contribute a significant share of OPT candidates who later pursue H-1B sponsorship in business development functions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
