Which companies sponsor visas for project management consultants in Oregon?
Intel and Nike are among the most active sponsors for project management consultant roles in Oregon, given their large operations in Hillsboro and Beaverton respectively. Oregon Health & Science University, Providence Health, and technology firms concentrated in the Portland metro also have documented sponsorship histories. Consulting firms with Oregon offices, including Deloitte and Accenture, periodically sponsor for senior project delivery roles.
Which visa types are most common for project management consultant roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project management consultants in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, engineering, or information systems. The L-1A and L-1B are also relevant for consultants transferring within multinational companies. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3, and Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under TN status.
Which cities in Oregon have the most project management consultant sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the largest share of project management consultant roles in Oregon, driven by its concentration of technology, healthcare, and professional services employers. Beaverton and Hillsboro are significant secondary hubs, largely due to Nike's world headquarters and Intel's large campus. Salem sees some demand from state government and public sector contractors, though the volume is lower than the Portland metro.
How to find project management consultant visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is a dedicated job board that filters for employers actively sponsoring work visas, including H-1B and other categories, for project management consultant roles in Oregon. You can browse current listings filtered by state and job type, making it easier to identify which Oregon employers are open to sponsorship rather than applying broadly and discovering visa requirements late in the process.
Are there state-specific considerations for project management consultants seeking visa sponsorship in Oregon?
Oregon follows federal prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions, meaning employers must pay wages at or above the Department of Labor's prevailing rate for project management consultant roles in the specific metro area, which differs between Portland, Bend, and other regions. Oregon's tech sector growth has increased demand for consultants with PMP certification or equivalent credentials, and employers in highly regulated industries like healthcare and semiconductors often favor candidates with domain-specific project experience.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project management consultant jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
