Which companies sponsor visas for accounting associates in Pennsylvania?
Large public accounting firms with Pennsylvania offices, including PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, and Ernst and Young, are among the most active sponsors for accounting associate roles. Regional firms based in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, along with corporate accounting departments at companies like Comcast, PPG Industries, and University of Pennsylvania Health System, also appear in sponsorship filings for these positions.
Which visa types are most common for accounting associate roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-1B is the most common visa for accounting associates in Pennsylvania, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, which satisfies the specialty occupation requirement. Candidates with CPA track credentials are well-positioned for H-1B petitions. Those from Australia may qualify for the E-3, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most accounting associate sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia accounts for the largest share of accounting associate sponsorship activity in Pennsylvania, driven by its concentration of professional services firms, financial institutions, and corporate headquarters. Pittsburgh is the second-largest market, particularly for candidates interested in energy, healthcare, and manufacturing sector accounting roles. The Lehigh Valley and Harrisburg also have a smaller but consistent set of employers who sponsor these positions.
How to find accounting associate visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify accounting associate positions in Pennsylvania without sorting through listings that exclude international candidates. You can search by role and state to see current openings from Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and other Pennsylvania markets. Migrate Mate is designed for international job seekers navigating the sponsorship process.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for accounting associates seeking visa sponsorship?
Pennsylvania has a strong pipeline of international accounting graduates from Temple University, Drexel University, and Carnegie Mellon, which means employers in the state are generally familiar with sponsoring accounting associate roles. The Department of Labor prevailing wage requirement applies to all H-1B petitions, and Pennsylvania employers must comply with wage determinations based on the specific metropolitan area, which differ between the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh metro regions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting associate jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
