Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for accounting associates?
Large employers with dedicated legal and HR departments are the most consistent sponsors for accounting associate roles in Oregon. That includes companies like Nike, Intel, and Daimler Trucks North America in the Portland metro, along with regional accounting firms and healthcare systems such as Providence Health and PeaceHealth. Smaller firms occasionally sponsor but less predictably, since H-1B visa sponsorship requires significant administrative investment.
Which visa types are most common for accounting associate roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for accounting associates in Oregon, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. Some employers also use OPT and STEM OPT extensions to bridge international candidates before pursuing H-1B sponsorship. Canadian and Mexican nationals may explore the TN visa under the accountant category, which does not require lottery selection.
How to find accounting associate visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, so you can search accounting associate roles in Oregon without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform is built for international job seekers and surfaces employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas, which is particularly useful for targeting the Portland metro where sponsorship-active employers are concentrated.
Which cities in Oregon have the most accounting associate sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of accounting associate sponsorship opportunities in Oregon, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters, professional services firms, and large healthcare networks. Beaverton and Hillsboro, part of the greater Portland metro, add to that pool through employers like Intel and Nike. Eugene has some activity tied to the University of Oregon and regional firms, but the volume is considerably lower than Portland.
Are there any Oregon-specific factors that affect accounting associate sponsorship?
Oregon has a strong pipeline of international graduates from Oregon State University and the University of Oregon, which means some Portland-area employers are accustomed to sponsoring early-career accounting hires. Oregon does not impose state-level visa restrictions, so federal H-1B prevailing wage requirements apply. Accounting associates should confirm that a prospective employer has previously filed Labor Condition Applications, as this is a reliable indicator of active sponsorship experience.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting associate jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
