Hatch is looking for a Junior Construction Engineer in training to support ongoing projects in Gary, Indiana and various site locations around the USA.

Reporting to: Regional Manager, Construction, USA

Responsibilities:

• Support site technical issues
• Support Construction Planning Activities (ie. developing construction work packages, temporary facilities planning, constructability, supporting schedule development, etc.)
• Review drawings for constructability and providing interpretation to craft and/or installation subcontractors
• Monitor construction activities to ensure quality, project schedule adherence and compliance with drawings, and specifications and codes, through regular inspections
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with the preparation of field material requisitions
• Prepare punch lists
• Attend subcontractor bid walks and assist in bid evaluation to support subcontract award
• Maintain the highest level of safety awareness and ensure all tasks are completed to the highest safety standards

Qualifications

• Recent graduate or currently enrolled in an engineering, construction management, or similar technical program
• In good academic standing
• Extracurricular involvement, enthusiastic and ambitious
• Self-motivated with good organizational capability
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Demonstrated teamwork skills
• Willingness to travel and work on various construction sites across the USA

• Perform assignments related to your sector
• Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
• Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
• Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
• Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
