Tips for Finding H-2B Sponsorship Jobs in Pennsylvania
Target the Pocono Mountains resort corridor
The Pocono region hosts several large resorts and recreational facilities that file H-2B petitions each summer season. Focusing your search on this corridor gives you a higher concentration of employers with an established history of sponsoring temporary workers.
Apply well before the cap registration window opens
H-2B visas are subject to a congressionally mandated annual cap. Pennsylvania employers typically file early in the fiscal year to secure slots. Contacting target employers three to four months before their busy season significantly improves your chances of being included in a petition.
Look beyond hotels to amusement and theme parks
Hersheypark and similar Pennsylvania amusement attractions routinely sponsor H-2B workers for ride operations, food service, and grounds maintenance roles. These employers often recruit internationally and are experienced with the petition process, making sponsorship conversations more straightforward.
Search industry-specific H-2B listings on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type, so you can browse H-2B-specific openings in Pennsylvania without sorting through roles that require different sponsorship. This saves time when the cap window is tight and employer response speed matters most.
Prioritize employers who have sponsored H-2B workers before
Employers with prior H-2B experience already understand the Department of Labor certification process and the wage requirements. Searching Department of Labor OFLC disclosure data lets you confirm which Pennsylvania companies have filed petitions in recent years before you apply.
Understand Pennsylvania's seasonal hiring cycles by industry
Landscaping and groundskeeping demand peaks April through October, while ski resorts and winter attractions need workers November through March. Aligning your outreach to an employer's specific seasonal window makes your application relevant at exactly the moment they are building their workforce.

Which industries in Pennsylvania sponsor the most H-2B visas?
Hospitality and lodging, landscaping and groundskeeping, and amusement and recreation are the industries that sponsor the most H-2B visas in Pennsylvania. Resorts in the Pocono Mountains, golf courses across the Philadelphia suburbs, and seasonal attractions near Hershey account for a large share of the state's annual petitions.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most H-2B sponsorship jobs?
The Pocono Mountains region, including areas around Stroudsburg and Mount Pocono, sees the highest concentration of H-2B petitions in Pennsylvania. The greater Philadelphia area, Lancaster County, and Hershey also generate significant sponsorship activity, particularly in hospitality, landscaping, and food service tied to tourism.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship in Pennsylvania?
H-2B covers temporary nonagricultural positions where the employer can demonstrate the work is seasonal, peakload, or intermittent. In Pennsylvania, qualifying roles commonly include hotel housekeeping, resort food and beverage staff, groundskeepers, landscaping laborers, ski lift operators, and amusement park attendants. The position must be temporary in nature, not a permanent ongoing need.
How do I find H-2B jobs in Pennsylvania that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by H-2B visa type and state, making it straightforward to identify Pennsylvania employers actively seeking sponsored workers. You can also review Department of Labor OFLC disclosure data to find companies with a history of filing H-2B petitions in Pennsylvania, then contact those employers directly before their seasonal hiring cycle begins.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
