Which companies sponsor visas for insurance collectors in Pennsylvania?
Larger carriers and third-party administrators are the most consistent sponsors in Pennsylvania. Highmark Health, Independence Blue Cross, Erie Indemnity, and national firms like Cigna and Aetna with Pennsylvania operations have filed H-1B visa labor condition applications for billing and collections-related roles. Staffing firms supporting healthcare revenue cycle operations in the state have also sponsored collectors, though direct-hire sponsorship from carriers is more common for full-time positions.
Which visa types are most common for insurance collector roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-1B is the most common work visa for insurance collector roles that qualify as specialty occupations, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field. Some candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship pursue the TN visa under the accountant or management consultant categories, depending on the role's scope. O-1 visas are rarely applicable here. Employer sponsorship willingness varies significantly by company size and hiring volume.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most insurance collector sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs account for the highest concentration of insurance collector sponsorship opportunities in Pennsylvania, driven by the density of health insurers, hospital systems, and revenue cycle firms in the region. Pittsburgh is a secondary hub, anchored by Highmark and UPMC's affiliated payers. Harrisburg, as the state capital and home to several regional carriers, also generates consistent hiring activity for collections and billing professionals.
How to find insurance collector visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles in the United States. You can filter directly for insurance collector positions in Pennsylvania to see employers actively open to sponsorship. Because sponsorship availability isn't always disclosed in standard job postings, Migrate Mate's focus on verified sponsoring employers saves significant research time compared to broad job searches.
Are there state-specific considerations for insurance collector roles in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania's large healthcare and insurance sector creates steady demand for collections professionals, particularly in revenue cycle management tied to the state's major hospital networks and managed care organizations. H-1B employers must pay the prevailing wage for the relevant occupation and geographic area, which is determined by Department of Labor data specific to the Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, or Harrisburg metro areas. Pennsylvania's insurance regulatory environment also means collectors working in compliance-adjacent roles may need familiarity with state-specific billing rules.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored insurance collector jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
