JOB SUMMARY:
The IT Systems and Applications Administrator is responsible for the administration, optimization, and support of the company’s IT infrastructure and enterprise applications. This includes systems such as virtual desktop environments, business-critical applications, cloud services, and analytics platforms. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure), Microsoft Intune, Power BI, along with a proactive approach to systems monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure & Systems Management
- Maintain, configure, and monitor servers, storage, networking, and VDI environments.
- Administer Microsoft Intune for device management, compliance, and endpoint security.
- Perform patching, backups, and system updates on a regular schedule.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policies.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery planning for core systems.
Application and Data Management
- Install, configure, and support enterprise and business applications, including Power BI.
- Manage access, permissions, and integrations between applications.
- Support Power BI datasets, gateways, and scheduled refreshes in collaboration with data teams.
- Perform routine SQL database management and write basic queries for reporting or troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate with vendors or developers when needed.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce system and data security policies across infrastructure and applications.
- Use Intune and other tools to monitor and enforce device compliance.
- Support audit and compliance requirements through documentation and reporting.
Support & Collaboration
- Provide Tier 1/2 support for infrastructure and application issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements.
- Document procedures, configurations, and solutions for internal use.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in systems and application administration roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with VDI platforms (e.g., VMware Horizon).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Intune for device and endpoint management, along with familiarity in managing Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualized environments.
- Practical experience with Power BI, including data refresh management, gateways, and report publishing, plus basic SQL querying skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is preferred.
- Demonstrated strengths in troubleshooting, analytical thinking, communication, and independently managing multiple priorities while meeting uptime, SLA, security, and compliance requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
General office environment. High utilization of office equipment, phones, computers, etc. Occasionally works in the production and warehouse areas—the ability to work remotely, as needed or requested.
