Which companies in Rhode Island sponsor visas for procurement managers?
Healthcare systems are the most active sponsors, including Lifespan Health System and Care New England, both of which maintain large procurement and supply chain departments. Defense and manufacturing contractors operating in the state, along with Brown University and the University of Rhode Island, also have track records of sponsoring procurement professionals. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and depends heavily on the specific role and employer capacity.
Which visa types are most common for procurement manager roles in Rhode Island?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for procurement managers in Rhode Island, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with advanced degrees may also qualify for the EB-2 immigrant visa pathway. Some multinational employers may use the L-1A for internal transfers into managerial procurement roles.
How to find procurement manager visa sponsorship jobs in Rhode Island?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find procurement manager roles in Rhode Island without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Because Rhode Island's market is smaller than neighboring Massachusetts, relevant openings can fill quickly. Checking Migrate Mate regularly and setting up alerts for procurement manager roles in Providence and surrounding areas gives you the best coverage.
Which cities in Rhode Island have the most procurement manager sponsorship jobs?
Providence accounts for the majority of procurement manager sponsorship activity in Rhode Island, driven by its concentration of hospitals, universities, and state government contractors. Cranston and Woonsocket see secondary activity tied to manufacturing and distribution employers. For the broadest selection, candidates should prioritize Providence-area roles, though remote and hybrid arrangements have expanded effective reach across the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for procurement managers seeking visa sponsorship in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island's relatively small size means the sponsoring employer pool is narrower than in larger states, so procurement managers benefit from targeting sectors with consistent hiring volume, particularly healthcare and higher education. The state's proximity to Boston means some employers operate across both markets, and candidates open to commuting or relocating within the region may access a wider range of sponsoring employers. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply regardless of state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement manager jobs in Rhode Island?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
