Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in Rhode Island?
Brown University, Rhode Island Hospital (a Lifespan affiliate), CVS Health's Rhode Island operations, Amica Mutual Insurance, and Fidelity Investments' Providence office have all filed Labor Condition Applications for program and project management roles. Healthcare systems and universities tend to be the most consistent sponsors in the state, given their scale and ongoing need for structured program oversight.
Which visa types are most common for project program manager roles in Rhode Island?
The H-1B is by far the most common visa category for project program managers in Rhode Island, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in business, engineering, or a related field. Some candidates already holding L-1B or L-1A status transfer to Rhode Island employers through intracompany arrangements, particularly within financial services and consulting firms.
Which cities in Rhode Island have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Providence accounts for the large majority of project program manager sponsorship activity in Rhode Island, driven by its concentration of hospitals, universities, and insurance companies. Warwick sees some hiring through healthcare and logistics employers near T.F. Green Airport, while Woonsocket has historically had activity tied to CVS Health's corporate functions. Outside these three cities, sponsorship opportunities are limited.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Rhode Island?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship, so you can browse project program manager roles in Rhode Island without sifting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces employers actively filing H-1B petitions for program management functions, which is particularly useful in a smaller state market like Rhode Island where sponsoring employers are a narrower subset of total job postings.
Are there state-specific considerations for project program managers seeking sponsorship in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island's relatively small employer base means the pool of companies willing to sponsor H-1B visas for project program managers is more concentrated than in larger states. Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design generate a graduate pipeline that keeps competition steady in Providence. The state's dominant industries, healthcare and financial services, tend to prefer candidates with PMP certification or equivalent credentials, which can strengthen an H-1B specialty occupation argument.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in Rhode Island?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
