PRIMARY FUNCTION
About Golf Pride®
For five generations, Golf Pride® has been the global leader in golf grips. Throughout our history, Golf Pride® has believed in the importance of developing the best performing, most innovative grips for the world’s best golfers and amateurs alike. As the only brand that touches every golfer, we are obsessed with the connectedness of the hands to the club, and this inspires every Golf Pride employee in everything we do. Now entering our 75th year, Golf Pride is returning to the category disruption roots that got us started as we enter our next growth phase. While we may be #1, you should expect to see many parallels to a brand reinventing itself as we drive the change management needed to secure our desired transformation.
About The Position
At Golf Pride, how we build our products is as important as what we build. Manufacturing engineering turns great grip designs into scalable, high-quality production realities, ensuring every grip reflects the innovation, precision, and performance that define the Golf Pride brand.
As Golf Pride’s Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be the senior-most leader of the manufacturing engineering function and a member of the Global Operations Leadership Team, reporting to the Director of Global Operations. You will set the Manufacturing Engineering function’s vision, standards, and capability roadmap across the entire Golf Pride manufacturing network. Plant manufacturing engineering teams look to this role for functional direction — you own what our plants need to be capable of; our plant teams own daily execution and local implementation.
This is a role focused on the future. You will systematically expand what Golf Pride’s plants and supplier partners can do — deepening process capabilities, accelerating speed to commercialization, building technical depth across the network, and ensuring our manufacturing base is ready for the product complexity ahead. You own the function end-to-end: design for manufacturability, automation strategy, capital planning, and make/buy decisions that optimize quality, cost, and speed to market.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Build Golf Pride’s Manufacturing Capability Roadmap: Define a multi-year capability plan that systematically expands what our plants can do — process capabilities, technical depth, speed to commercialization, and readiness for future product complexity. This is the strategic backbone of the ME function.
Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Serve as the manufacturing engineering voice in product development, ensuring new grip designs are optimized for producibility, quality, yield, and cost from concept through launch. Partner with Innovation to accelerate time from design to scalable production.
Define and Execute Automation & Digital Manufacturing Strategy: Develop and deploy a multi-year automation roadmap integrating robotics, advanced process controls, and smart manufacturing technologies to improve throughput, reduce variability, and build capacity for growth.
Own Capital Strategy & Make/Buy Decisions: Manage the growth and sustaining CapEx plan — project identification, justification, prioritization, and execution. Lead insource vs. outsource decisions across the portfolio, balancing cost, quality, IP protection, capacity, and supply chain risk with analytical frameworks tied to long-term business objectives.
Drive Manufacturing Process Development: Lead development, validation, and deployment of manufacturing processes for new products and platform extensions — tooling, fixtures, mixing, molding, finishing, and assembly — to meet safety, quality, yield, and throughput targets.
Build the Manufacturing Engineering Function: Grow the function globally, partnering with plant engineering teams in Taiwan and Thailand on staffing, capability development, and talent. Leverage Eaton corporate engineering forums and technology councils to accelerate Golf Pride’s technical capabilities.
Partner Across Functions to Drive Business Impact: Collaborate across the business (Commercial, Innovation, Operations, HR, Finance, Legal) to integrate engineering priorities with quality systems, CI initiatives, new product launches, and commercialization timelines. Ensure manufacturing investments are tied to clear business outcomes.
WHO YOU ARE:
You are a manufacturing engineering transformation leader who builds capabilities, not just maintains equipment. You see ME as the function that defines what Golf Pride’s plants can do — and you are driven to systematically raise that bar. You are equally comfortable troubleshooting a process issue on the plant floor and presenting a capability investment strategy to senior leadership.
You bring:
- A capability-builder mentality — you don’t maintain systems, you design and implement better ones that expand what the manufacturing network can do. You think in terms of platforms, not projects.
- Deep technical expertise in manufacturing processes (rubber/polymer processing and molding strongly preferred) combined with strategic vision for automation and technology investment.
- A global perspective — you work effectively across geographically and culturally diverse teams; Asia experience a strong plus.
- Strong leadership presence — you build trust, develop talent, hold teams accountable, and drive results through both direct leadership and indirect influence.
- Business acumen — you connect engineering investments to commercialization speed, customer value, and competitive advantage.
- Strong communication skills — you translate engineering data into clear business cases and recommendations at all levels.
- A bias for action — strong diagnostics paired with pragmatic decisions that improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering required
- 10+ years in manufacturing engineering, process development, or operations engineering; 5+ years leading engineering teams.
- Technical ME Expertise: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes; rubber, polymer, or similar material processing highly desirable. Proven experience with DFM/DFA, automation strategy (robotics, advanced process controls, Industry 4.0), capital project management, make/buy analysis, production tooling, fixture design, and process validation (PPAP or equivalent).
- Tools & Data: Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools, process simulation software, and standard business tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Familiarity with stage-gate product development processes.
- CI & Problem Solving: Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, VA/VE, and structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, A3, FMEA).
- Collaboration & Communication: Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, partner cross-functionally, and translate technical concepts into business language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or MBA.
- Multi-site experience.
- Rubber and or polymer material processing experience.
- Ability to travel internationally approximately 25% of the time.
- Passion for golf and understanding of the golfer’s experience preferred.

Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in North Carolina?
Technology employers in the Research Triangle are among the most active sponsors, including Red Hat, Cisco, Lenovo, and IBM. Charlotte-based financial institutions like Bank of America and Wells Fargo also sponsor project and program manager roles. Life sciences and contract research organizations in the Durham and Morrisville areas have consistent H-1B filing histories for program management positions as well.
Which visa types are most common for project program manager roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project and program managers in North Carolina, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or information systems. Candidates with extraordinary credentials may pursue O-1 visa classification. Some multinational companies in Charlotte and the Triangle use L-1 visa transfers for managers moving from international offices to U.S. operations.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Raleigh and the broader Research Triangle region, which includes Durham and Chapel Hill, generate the highest concentration of project and program manager sponsorship jobs in the state. Charlotte ranks second, driven by its financial services and technology sectors. Morrisville and Cary, located near the Research Triangle Park, also host major tech campuses with active sponsorship hiring for these roles.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for project and program manager roles in North Carolina without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location, filtering for Raleigh, Charlotte, or Durham. Migrate Mate's listings focus on employers who have active H-1B filing histories, which is particularly useful for this role category in North Carolina.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for project program managers seeking sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle Park concentration means many sponsoring employers are large technology or pharmaceutical companies with established immigration programs, which generally means smoother internal processes for H-1B petitions. The state's strong university pipeline from NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke University means employers here are accustomed to sponsoring candidates. Project and program manager roles must qualify as specialty occupations, so employers typically require a relevant degree for the specific position.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
