Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in Delaware?
Delaware's largest visa sponsors for project program managers include JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Incyte Corporation, and DuPont, all of which have significant operations in Wilmington and Newark. The state's high concentration of incorporated corporations and financial institutions means program management roles with international hiring are most common in financial services, life sciences, and technology operations.
Which visa types are most common for project program managers in Delaware?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project program managers in Delaware, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, qualifying them as specialty occupations. Some employers in life sciences or with multinational operations also use the L-1A for managers transferring intracompany. The H-1B cap and annual lottery apply to most candidates unless the sponsoring employer holds cap-exempt status.
Which cities in Delaware have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the majority of sponsored project program manager positions in Delaware, driven by its dense cluster of financial institutions, legal firms, and corporate headquarters. Newark is the second most active market, with University of Delaware-connected employers and technology companies nearby. Dover sees fewer openings at this level, though state government contractors occasionally post program management roles there.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface visa sponsorship jobs for international candidates, including project program manager roles filtered to Delaware. Rather than sorting through general postings that rarely clarify sponsorship availability, Migrate Mate focuses on employers with a history of sponsoring work visas. Filtering by Delaware lets you target Wilmington's financial sector and Newark's life sciences employers directly.
Are there any state-specific considerations for project program managers seeking sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware's incorporation-friendly environment means many Fortune 500 companies are legally domiciled here, but their operational hiring often occurs in Wilmington or at campuses like Incyte's in Wilmington. Program managers at financial services firms may face stricter compliance documentation requirements tied to regulated industries, which can add complexity to the H-1B petition process. Delaware has no large public research university hospital system, so the life sciences pipeline runs more through private biotech and pharma than academic medical centers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
