Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in Nebraska?
Omaha-based employers lead Nebraska's sponsorship activity for project program managers. Union Pacific, Mutual of Omaha, Berkshire Hathaway subsidiaries, Nebraska Medicine, and TD Ameritrade (now part of Charles Schwab) have all appeared in H-1B visa disclosure data for program management roles. The University of Nebraska system also sponsors for project and program management positions in administrative and research operations contexts.
Which visa types are most common for project program manager roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for project program managers in Nebraska, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a related bachelor's degree or higher. L-1B and L-1A transfers are also used when candidates move from a multinational employer's foreign office to a Nebraska location. Candidates with relevant advanced degrees may also be considered under H-1B cap-exempt sponsorship if hired by a qualifying university or nonprofit research institution.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the large majority of project program manager sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, financial services firms, and major healthcare systems. Lincoln is the secondary market, supported by state government agencies, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and insurance sector employers. Outside these two cities, sponsorship opportunities for this role are limited.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for project program manager roles in Nebraska without manually screening each posting. The platform surfaces positions from employers in Omaha and Lincoln who have active sponsorship programs. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate helps narrow results to companies with a documented history of sponsoring project and program management candidates.
Are there any Nebraska-specific considerations for project program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Nebraska's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B project program managers are determined by the Department of Labor using Omaha or Lincoln metropolitan area wage data, which tends to run lower than coastal markets. This can make sponsorship more accessible for Nebraska employers relative to high-cost metros. Candidates with PMP certification or a degree in business, engineering, or information systems generally have stronger eligibility profiles for specialty occupation classification under H-1B petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
