Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in Texas?
Large employers across Texas with established immigration programs frequently sponsor project program managers. These include Dell Technologies and NXP Semiconductors in Austin, Texas Instruments and AT&T in Dallas, and Chevron, Shell, and HP Enterprise in Houston. Defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, both with significant Texas operations, also sponsor program management roles with some regularity.
Which visa types are most common for project program manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project program managers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, or business. L-1A visas apply when candidates are transferring within a multinational company into a managerial capacity. O-1 visas are an option for candidates with documented exceptional achievement in their field.
Which cities in Texas have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads in tech-sector sponsorship for program managers, driven by the concentration of companies like Dell, Apple, and Amazon. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with strength in telecom, financial services, and defense. Houston is the primary hub for energy and petrochemical program management roles. San Antonio has a smaller but growing pool of opportunities, particularly within defense and cybersecurity.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse project program manager roles in Texas without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by city, industry, and visa type. Given how spread out Texas employers are across sectors from energy to tech, using a focused tool like Migrate Mate saves significant time in the search process.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for project program managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since DOL wage determinations are based on the metropolitan area rather than the state. Program managers in Austin and Dallas fall under different prevailing wage tiers than those in smaller metros, so the sponsoring employer's location within Texas matters for LCA compliance. Texas also has strong university pipelines through UT Austin, Texas A&M, and Rice that feed local employers with international talent.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
