Which companies sponsor visas for project program managers in Oregon?
Intel is the largest sponsor of project program manager roles in Oregon, given its major manufacturing and R&D campus in Hillsboro. Nike and Adidas, both headquartered in the Portland metro area, also hire internationally for program management positions. Other active sponsors include Oregon Health and Science University, Daimler Trucks North America, and technology firms clustered in the Silicon Forest corridor west of Portland.
Which visa types are most common for project program manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for project program managers in Oregon, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or computer science, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with multinational employer backgrounds may qualify for the L-1A or L-1B. Australian citizens may also pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and processes faster than the H-1B visa.
Which cities in Oregon have the most project program manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland and the surrounding metro area, including Hillsboro and Beaverton, account for the large majority of project program manager sponsorship opportunities in Oregon. Intel's Hillsboro campus alone drives significant demand. Eugene has a smaller but growing technology presence, partly linked to the University of Oregon. Bend is an emerging tech hub but remains limited in volume compared to the Portland corridor.
How to find project program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, and you can filter directly for project program manager roles in Oregon to see employers actively sponsoring. Because sponsorship willingness is rarely stated in standard job postings, Migrate Mate surfaces this information so you are not applying blindly. Focusing on established Oregon employers like Intel and Nike, which have documented H-1B filing histories, improves your chances of reaching a productive application.
What should project program managers know about Oregon-specific hiring and prevailing wage considerations?
Oregon's Department of Labor prevailing wage data, combined with federal Department of Labor LCA requirements, means sponsors must pay wages meeting the local Portland or Hillsboro area standard for program management roles. Oregon does not impose a state-level work authorization fee on top of federal requirements. Portland's strong semiconductor and athletic apparel industries mean program managers with technical project experience, particularly in manufacturing or product development, are especially competitive for sponsored roles here.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project program manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
