Which companies sponsor visas for procurement managers in South Carolina?
The most active visa sponsors for procurement managers in South Carolina tend to be large manufacturers and aerospace firms. BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg, Michelin North America, Boeing in North Charleston, and Volvo Cars in Berkeley County all have established procurement functions and documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories. Global logistics and distribution companies operating out of Charleston's port corridor also sponsor for supply chain and procurement roles.
Which visa types are most common for procurement manager roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for procurement managers in South Carolina. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in supply chain management, business, or a related field. Some candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship pursue TN visa status under the USMCA in the management consultant or engineer category, depending on how the role is defined by the employer.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most procurement manager sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and Spartanburg lead in procurement manager sponsorship activity, driven by the dense concentration of automotive and advanced manufacturing operations in the Upstate region. Charleston is a strong second, with Boeing, port-related logistics firms, and a growing defense contracting sector generating procurement demand. Columbia, as the state capital and home to several large hospital systems and government contractors, also produces sponsorship-eligible procurement roles.
How to find procurement manager visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to search for procurement manager roles in South Carolina without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by city, focusing on Greenville, Charleston, or Spartanburg, where sponsoring employers are concentrated. Migrate Mate also surfaces roles from manufacturers and logistics companies that have active H-1B filing histories in the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for procurement managers seeking visa sponsorship in South Carolina?
South Carolina's strong foreign direct investment history, particularly from German and European automotive manufacturers, means many employers are experienced with international hiring and familiar with H-1B sponsorship processes. The state's technical college system and Clemson University's supply chain programs create local talent pipelines, but large manufacturers still actively recruit internationally for senior procurement roles. Candidates should confirm that a prospective employer has a dedicated HR or immigration support function, as smaller suppliers may lack sponsorship infrastructure.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement manager jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
